Joey Kovar: Dead at 29

You probably recognize him from "Celebrity Rehab", but before that he was on a little show called "Real World: Hollywood" (with my girl, Brianna Taylor). More importantly, he died at age 29 due to drugs. I really thought he was doing pretty well, but it's a hard habit to kick, and people slip. He was a personal trainer and had abused drugs and alcohol in the past, but had been on the straight and narrow when he joined the RW cast. He ended up having to leave mid-season to go to rehab. Then 2 years later he ended up on CR, so it was obviously still a problem. A female friend called 911 this morning because Joey was laying on the floor with blood coming out of his nose and ears - he was already dead. In a one-on-one interview with Dr. Drew, Joey had this to say: “I want this, but at the same time, I’m not going to make any false bulls— promises,” he said. “I’m not going to tell you ‘I’m going to be sober,’ ’cause I don’t know.” I think we all know what happened with that. My thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. RIP

Album Review: This Is She - Nobody Is Ok

As you might know already, me and Alana Grace have been friends for about 5 years or so and I have always supported her music, so when I heard that she was fronting a new band I jumped on the bandwagon. Thanks to you guys, they got their video on MTVU!

Grow Up - Their first official single (has a music video too). I think it is a good solid song and the perfect first single.

Ghost - The first song of theirs that I ever had the pleasure of hearing - still love it!

Disobey -  Probably my least favorite song on the album, but still not bad.

Misery - Alana has a very captivating voice, and this song really shows that off.

Nobody Is Ok - The title track had a lot to live up to, and it doesn't disappoint!

Brace Myself - A great way to end the EP and makes you look forward to a full-length album!

Joe Simpson Arrested For Drunk Driving

This news actually came as a big shock to me because it seems so out of character for him.

Joe Simpson, the father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, was arrested on August 4th for a DUI. He was reportedly held overnight and released the next morning.This is the first time he has run into this problem (or first time he got caught anyway), so he will probably just a slap on the wrist. As many of you know, he is a former pastor....I wonder what his family thinks of this news.
