Artist Spotlight - March

These artists will also be featured on this site throughout the month:

Shannon Lee - This month's first artist is no stranger to this site. You can find her on Twitter (under Shannon Elliman) and Facebook. My favorite song of hers is "The Way":
Tony Lucca - Anyone around my age probably remembers him from MMC in the 90s, but he also just happens to be featured on Season 2 of "The Voice", and he is one of my faves this season! You can find him on Twitter and Facebook as well.
Lindsey Pavao - So far it looks like she will be one of the front runners this season on "The Voice". I did an interview with her, and it will be up at a later date. For now, you can check her out on Twitter or Facebook. She is so good that she even has a Tumblr page dedicated to her!

Regina Spektor - All The Rowboats (Song Premiere)

It is her first single from her new album, "What We Saw From The Cheap Seats" (being released on May 12th):

Vanessa Minnillo Officially Changes Her Name

Even though she has been using the name "Lachey" since marrying Nick last summer, she finally legally changed it today. I am a big supporter of this couple, and I have even gotten to to talk to Vanessa (via Twitter) a few times. They seem genuinely happy too. He is probably one of the more humble celebrities around today, and hasn't let fame go to his head :). (I am in the process of legally changing my name too).

The Video That Made Drew Ryniewicz A Star

Since she is a featured artist this month, I decided I better post this blog.

I think she is an amazing talent for being so young, and I really hope she goes far in her budding career.

Here is her original audition video for "X Factor" (USA) with her singing her rendition of "Baby" by Justin Bieber:

Lindsay Lohan Headed Towards A Comeback

Not only does she have that upcoming SNL hosting gig that everyone is taking about, but she has also been cast in a new movie (her first since 2010)! She will play screen legend Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime Original movie about the actress' rocky relationship with Richard Burton. Production for the film will begin in March.

Nick Jonas and Delta Goodrem Split

They were together for 9 months according to reports, but they have mutually called it quits. They are of course "still friends" and wish each other luck with their careers.

My Jennifer Love Hewitt Birthday Tribute!

Since she has been my idol/role model since I was 11, I thought I should do something special for her birthday: Love, you are TRULY an inspiration, and I want to say thank you for being YOU because it's a big reason as to why I am ME. Here are some of my favorite JLH moments: My favorite music video of hers I want this song played at my wedding (seriously) One of my fave movies! The only song i can actually sing Shoutout to the best TV show ever! Great interview! Where it all began :) <3 My favorite movie ever! We are the dork twins!

Lindsay Lohan Is Set To Host SNL!

Lindsay Lohan hasn't hosted "Saturday Night Live" in 6 years, but she will make her return on March 3rd! This will be her 4th time hosting the show, but her first since all her legal problems and stint in rehab. The musical guest that night will be Jack White - will you be watching?

Another Celebrity Couple Takes A Stand

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tried this same thing about 4 years ago, and recently changed their minds...

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard recently announced that they aren't going to get married until it is legal for EVERYONE, despite having a two year long engagement already. Kristen said she doesn't think it is fair to get married when some of her best friends aren't able to do the same (Zachary Quinto). Although I support equality, taking a stand didn't work for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (and they are pretty big celebrities), so not sure it will work for anyone else either. It would only work if more people did it - like a lot more people. I can say this though, Kristen and Dax have my full support!

Jessica Simpson Promotes New Show With "Biggest Loser" Shopping Spree

In honor of her new show coming to NBC this spring, Jessica Simpson surprised two "Biggest Loser" contestants with a shopping spree. The episode will air on March 13th, and the premiere of her new show "Fashion Star" (also featuring Nicole Richie) will premiere immediately afterwards. I honestly would not mind a shopping spree with one of the most gorgeous females ever. I would love to spend the day with her!

Jada Pinkett Releases Song For Will Smith

Despite a years worth of rumors stating that there is trouble in their marriage, it seems that their 13 year old union is as strong as ever. Jada recorded a Valentine's Day song for her husband and posted it on her Facebook page as a free download. They are one of my fave celebrity couples, so this news makes me very happy. I can only hope that Will responds with a song of his own! Burn (Free Download) Thanks to E! for the heads up on the song

Adele Is NOT Going On A Hiatus

Even though Adele said in a recent interview with Vogue that she was taking a 5 year break from recording, she has reportedly changed her mind. She recently took back her statement and said she has been recording again. (Her original statement caused a lot of panic from fans).

Matt Bomer Finally Comes Out

My mom might be a little disappointed by this news because she thinks he is "such a cutie", but Matt Bomer (the star of "White Collar") has officially come out of the closet. He did so while giving a speech at an awards banquet recently. Although he never came out until now, he has always been a big supporter of gay rights in the public eye. I personally already knew that he was gay, but didn't want to out him. I can only hope that all the close minded people of this world will continue watching the show, and supporting the network. He has a long term partner (Hollywood publicist, Simon Halls), and three beautiful children. I wish him much happiness in the future, and my biggest congratulations!

Selena Gomez Is Taking A Break From Music

After releasing 3 albums in the past few years, Selena Gomez has announced that she is taking a break from music to focus on acting. She also stated that she wanted her band, "The Scene", to be free to record with whoever they want, whenever they want. She has a few movies in the works, including one with Vanessa Hudgens, and another with Adam Sandler (she took over the role from Miley Cyrus). Her official statement on her Facebook page said this: "Just to clear up my last instagram post, my band and I are going our separate ways for a while. This year is all about films and acting and I want my band to play music wherever with whoever. We will be back but, it will be a good while. I love them and I love you guys :)."

The Lucky One (Official Poster)

It's another Nicholas Sparks book turned into a movie, but I am excited about it nonetheless! The movie comes to theaters on April 20th!

"Sparkle" Is Still On Track For August Release

What is now known as Whitney Houston's last movie, featuring her final songs, will still be released in August (as originally planned). The movie also stars Jordin Sparks (who is actually the star of the movie, and Houston plays her mother). The movie is a remake of the 1976 film of the same name. In case you haven't guessed, it is roughly based on "The Supremes". Although it is still set for an August release, it has been pushed back a week to the 17th.

I think it looks good, personally:

Movie Review: The Vow

First off, it was destined to be a hit (in my mind) when I found out it starred Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum (two of my favorite actors). Let me just say right now that it exceeded my expectations. It is based on a true story, so it already captures your heart from knowing that. Channing and Rachel play a Newlywed couple that seem to have the perfect marriage, but then an unfortunately accident changes everything and she can't remember their life together at all. He spends the entire movie trying to win her heart back and remind her of what they have. I can't tell you if he succeeds or not, but I can say that you will definitely enjoy watching him try. Everyone in the world wants this kind of relationship! I give this movie a 4.5 out of 5 - absolutely superb!

RIP Whitney Houston: There Wasn't Another Like You, and Never Will Be

Whitney Houston, possibly one of the greatest voice in music EVER was found dead today at the age of 48. She was known for her voice, but in her later years she was known for her tumultuous marriage to Bobby Brown, and her drug use. There is no official cause of death yet, but I think we all know her heart just gave out from all the years of abuse. One of my favorite movies of all time is "The Bodyguard", and it happens to be the greatest selling soundtrack in the world. It was also her first movie. She was a six time Grammy Winner, and was scheduled to perform at a pre-Grammys party tonight. She is survived by her ex husband, and their daughter. I hope people will wise up eventually and lay off the drugs - play it smart. Another musical legend - gone in an instant :(.

Ghost Whisperer Co-Stars Back Together?

There have been rumors all over the place the past few days that Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy are back together - I am here to confirm that it is NOT true. I guess the original story was on E! and got spread around to other media sites like wildfire. They have both confirmed the news as rumors themselves. I actually said it wasn't true when I first heard the rumor, but I wanted to post the confirmation after it was made official.

The Bourne Legacy (Teaser Trailer)

The movie (Matt Damon's last in the series) doesn't come to theaters until August, but here is a taste of what's to come:

Prop 8 Found Unconstitutional....AGAIN!

Well, it was a victory for the gays in California today because that big proposition that kept them from getting married back in 2010 has been shut down yet again. The 9th Circuit Court (in all their wisdom) deemed Prop 8 as "unconstitutional" for the second time. Now the case goes back to the Supreme Court, and I am hoping for very similar results! Congrats California!

I can only hope that more good news will come about Washington state passing the bill for same-sex marriage!

Artist Spotlight - February

Chris Koon - First up we have one of my favorite up and coming male artists, he opened for Aaron Carter last year! You can find him on Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube!

Curtis Grimes - Some people may know him as "The Voice" reject, but this is one very talented guy! I saw him perform here in my town, and I am not a country fan, but he was awesome! You can find him on Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube :)

Drew Ryniewicz - Last, but not least, we have a young lady that definitely made a lasting impression on anyone that was watching "The X Factor" this past season. I still can't believe this talented young lady is only a teenager! You can find Drew on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter!

Ms Cyrus got a tattoo last year that was supportive of gay rights, and she got a fair amount of backlash for it. Today she responded:

“When I shared a picture of my tattoo on my Twitter page and said, ‘All LOVE is equal,’ a lot of people mocked me—they said, ‘What happened to you? You used to be a Christian girl!’ And I said, ‘Well, if you were a true Christian, you would have your facts straight. Christianity is about love.’ The debate resulted in a lot of threats and hate mail to people who agreed and disagreed with me. At one point I had to say, ‘Dude, everyone lay off.’ Can’t people have friendly debates about sensitive topics without it turning into unnecessary threats? Every American should be allowed the same rights and civil liberties. Without legalized same-sex marriage, most of the time you cannot share the same health benefits, you are not considered next of kin and you are not granted the same securities as a heterosexual couple. How is this different than having someone sit in the back of the bus because of their skin color? My dad is a real man’s man, lives on the farm and is as Southern and straight as they come. He loves my gay friends and even supports same-sex marriage. If my father can do it, anyone can. This is America, the nation of dreams. We’re so proud of that. And yet certain people are excluded. It’s just not right."

I do agree with her, and I am proud of her for standing up for what she believes in, and not backing down. I hope someday there will be equal rights for all. Just think, women and African Americans used to have no rights, and they fought their way to equality, so this is just the next logical step :).

The Voice vs American Idol

It all started with a comment that "American Idol" judge, Randy Jackson, made at the Television Critics Association’s Winter press tour last month: “The winner of ‘The Voice,’ as I will remind you, was an artist who had a deal on Capitol for many years – a failed contract over there – so for that show it was almost like second chance people, it wasn’t like some new artist. It’s a different thing.” So, when the three judges from "The Voice" appeared on Ellen recently (it will air tomorrow), Adam Levine had THIS to say: I don't even watch "American Idol" (except for what ends up online as a "highlight" and I pay attention to who wins/runner up), but I love "The Voice", and if I was going to do a competition show, "The Voice" would win, hands down!
