"Kendra VS Kirstie" Is All Just Bullspit
Maybe I found this newsworthy...or maybe I just wanted a pic of Kendra on my page. Either way, Kendra Wilkinson and Kirstie Alley are NOT fighting, there's no friction, and nobody is jealous of anyone. Their rivalry on this season of "Dancing With The Stars" is all in good fun. Just more proof that you can't believe everything you read and people should really check their sources.
Lindsay....Still Lohan
You may have read on a number of different sites that Lindsay Lohan was dropping her last name because she wants to distance herself from her father, Michael Lohan; well, it's not true! The other sites claim that her mother, Dina, had confirmed it, but Lindsay herself said that she is NOT dropping her last name. I have been wondering about this story all week, I am glad it was finally confirmed by Gossipcop. I am a fan of Lindsay's and I would be a fan of her either way, but I am kinda glad that she is keeping her name "as is".

Apparently, Everyone Hates "Friday"
Its official, Rebecca Black beat her crush, Justin Bieber, in something...Her music video for "Friday" was voted the worst video in YouTube history (by viewers)! She topped the list with 1.17 million "dislikes"; beating the record held by Bieber's "Baby", who had 1.16 million. At least she won at something ;). Good luck with those careers, kiddos.

"Midnight In Paris" Official Trailer
FYI I will watch ANY movie that stars Rachel McAdams (she is my second favorite actress).....with that said, this movie does look pretty good anyway. The movie also stars Owen Wilson.
Rachel McAdams' real life boyfriend also makes an appearance in this film.

Just Curious
I mean overall talent by the way (including acting); this has nothing to do with the movie itself.

Announcer Didn't Make WWE GLAAD
So you might have heard the news a couple of weeks ago about GLAAD ( The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) teaming up with WWE to end homophobic slurs in wrestling (good luck with that)...Well, it seems that one of their most famous announcers didn't get that memo either. Michael Cole called fellow announcer, Josh Mathews, a fa**ot on Twitter (it wasn't edited), and then deleted it right after. He then tweeted an apology, but the damage was already done. A rep for WWE told TMZ, "WWE has alerted GLAAD to the situation and spoken to Michael Cole about his post. He has removed it and apologized for using hateful language. Michael will be included in the training session being done by GLAAD. WWE takes this very seriously and is against discrimination of any kind based on sexual orientation, gender, race, religion or other." No word from GLAAD yet. I, for one, take gay rights very seriously and I don't think gay slurs are okay coming from anybody.
Thank you to TMZ for this story.

Reese Witherspoon Ties The Knot....Again!
The Academy Award winning actress married Jim Toth in front of 125 guests yesterday. The ceremony lasted 20 minutes and took place at her estate in Ojai, California. The couple began dating in early 2010 (sortly after her split with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Reese is one of my favorite actresses, and I really hope this one works out for her.

Lauren Conrad's Reality Show Intro
It hasn't seen the light of day yet because MTV turned it down (you picked Jersey Shore, really?). It might find a new home someday, but for now, here is the intro:
I would just like to say that I am not an LC fan and never have been, but I did watch "The Hills" each and every week (cause of Audrina) :).

Elizabeth Taylor Passes Away
She was 79 years old. Her children were at her bedside when she passed on at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Elizabeth Taylor may have been a screen legend, but her personal life got a lot of attention too. She was married 8 times! (including Conrad Hilton, Eddie Fisher, and twice to Richard Burton) She was also an AIDS activist. She rose to fame as a child actress. Check out the tribute to Taylor below (narrated by Paul Newman).

Some big names in music are coming together to record a benefit album for Japan's earthquake and tsunami victims. Universal hopes to have the album out by the end of this week. Some of the performers (so far) are Rihanna, U2, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Bon Jovi, and Lady Gaga!

Interview: Erika Fatale!
I wanted to include the email she sent me too - that way you can give your opinion yourself! You can find Erika on Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, or Facebook. Let me tell you right now, this girl is going to be a huge star! She has the voice of an angel and looks like a goddess (you can even reverse those and it's still true)!
Hi Lilly,
I apologize for it taking me a few days to answer the interview questions. Here they are finally! Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm so glad the listeners are responding well to the songs and I greatly appreciate all of your support and you playing my music on Resolution Radio.
Since this is my first demo and it was an opportunity for me to explore who I want to be as an artist and my different influences, I'm always curious to hear from listeners of my songs which song/style most resonates with them. (Since the demo explored pop, soul, dance, funk, rock, etc). Maybe that could be an interesting question directed towards your listeners. What sound or direction they'd most like to hear? Also if you have an answer to that as well.
Like I said before, I look forward to sharing more music with you and your listeners as soon as it's recorded!!
Thank you so much and please let me know if you need anything else from me :)

Have you always wanted to be a singer? How long have you been singing?
EF: Pretty much! I have known I wanted to be a recording artist since I was about 11 years old and I’ve never looked back. My family tells me I was humming and singing before I was even talking so it’s always been in me! My voice has always been as loud and booming as it is now. As much as it surprises people now, you can imagine how it REALLY did at the beginning!
Which song is your favorite (so far)?
EF: I would say “Femme Fatale” is my favorite (which I hear is also a Resolution Radio favorite!) because it was the first song I wrote for the demo. I wanted the song to set the stage for the sound, look, and feel I was going for. Femme fatales are sexy, smart, confident and mysterious. They’re women who know who they are, what they want and how to get it. That’s where I’m at in this point of my life now able to fully devote myself to breaking into the music business (now that I completed college graduating from Northwestern University). I’m actually thankful that I was “forced” to finish college first because now I really know who I am and what I want to achieve and I’m slowly but surely making it happen despite all the obstacles. The vibe of “Femme Fatale” is a bit darker, dramatic, and sultry which is exactly what I wanted, but still very pop.
Can we expect a full album in 2011 or 2012?
*EF: That is the plan! I’m getting prepared to head back into the studio soon to work with more producers and songwriters to better myself as a songwriter and hone in on creating my own unique sound and niche and record some smash hits!!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Every time I play one of your songs, I get a comparison with Christina Aguilera. Are you a fan of hers? What other musicians do you like?
EF: I have heard that comparison quite a few times and I take it as a huge compliment. Christina Aguilera’s viewed as one of the greatest voices so I’m very privileged to be compared to that and I’ve been a big fan of hers over the years. My biggest influence has been Whitney Houston. I feel like she pretty much taught me how to sing since I would listen to her CDs over and over as a child and try to replicate her. I’ve grown up loving the big diva vocalists like Whitney, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Yolanda Adams, etc. Also, I’m from Chicago, one of the biggest soul, blues, and gospel capitals of the world and I got my start singing in church so that soul is just inherent I guess. No matter what type of music I sing I can’t help but have that soul come out! Michael Jackson has also of course been one of my favorites since the beginning. Also, I love James Morrison, Adele, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce, Edith Piaf, the list goes on and on!
If you could work with anyone, who would it be?
EF: Since Whitney Houston really was my inspiration for becoming a singer, having the opportunity to sing with her would make my life complete! Also, Beyonce is fabulous. I think that we could do some damage together and that would make for one sassy pop diva collaboration for sure!
If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?
EF: As cliché as it sounds, I really cannot imagine doing anything else. Singing, performing, and creating music is where I’m the happiest. If I didn’t want to be an artist myself, I would still be singing and performing in some capacity. Otherwise, if I lost my singing voice, I speak French and studied in Paris and I absolutely love France and plan on moving back down the road. So at that point you could probably find me prancing along the Seine.
So, why did you decide to use Erika Fatale, instead of your real last name?
EF: My real name is Erika Rodger, which is the name I have used up until recording this new demo. But when I perform, I feel like a completely different person. All of a sudden I transform into this confident, in-control woman with this “swagger” I’ve been told, which is very different from “Erika Rodger” on a day-to-day basis. I wanted a name that was still me but more aggressive like my music and like my stage persona so Erika Fatale fit perfectly.
What is your current fave album? (I will go buy it right now :P)
EF: My current favorite is the new Adele record. Love it!
Do you want to be an actress someday too? (seems to be a trend)
EF: Right now, I’m so focused on music, but I think all performers like to challenge themselves and become performers in every sense of the word so acting is definitely something I’m interested in tackling in the future. I took some performance studies classes in college so I have some acting under my belt but I’m looking forward to testing my acting chops further down the road! (And I would love to host Saturday Night Live at some point. I’ve been acting out and quoting SNL skits for years so I think that would definitely be in my future!)
Do you write all your songs?
EF: This demo was my first time writing. I have been writing song ideas for years but this was my first time working with a producer/songwriter and really developing my ideas into actual songs. So I ended up writing Femme Fatale, Whipped, Liquid, and That Naïve with my producer Peter Stengaard. “Too Lost In You” was a remake of Diane Warren’s song originally recorded by the Sugababes so I did not write that one but I absolutely love writing and cannot wait to get back in the studio and bring some of my new ideas to life!

Well, after being released from rehab recently she is back in a big way and she wants to show her appreciation to the fans that got her to where she is today, and stuck by her side through all the bad stuff too. RIP Nate Dogg
Nate Dogg, the guy known for his collaboration on hits like "Regulate" (with Warren G) and "Shake That Ass" (with Eminem), has passed away. He was found dead in his home on March 15, 2011. Not much more information is known at this time, but since he did have to semi-retire from the music biz a few years ago after a series of strokes; i am going to guess that he suffered another one. The news of his death first appeared on Twitter, from his friend Daz Dillinger. He was just 41 years old.

Taryn Manning Brings the 'Boom'
Originally posted by Mel on Melismatic Blog:
Currently, Taryn is branching out on her own as a solo artist in her own side-project to the Boomkat sound, in favor of a more sunny, poppy, dance-and-synth-soaked flavor rather than Boomkat's unrelenting attitude and beats.
The result has been the single "Spotlight", now available for purchase on iTunes and oft featured on my new home on Resolution Radio. "Spotlight" takes a page out of early 90's dance pop with hints of late 1970's disco flair. It's a whirlwind of poppy goodness with an unrelenting backbeat. It's certainly not reinventing the wheel, but when a song makes you feel this good, none of that matters. It's an homage to the power disco-pop of yore, and in a post Lady Gaga Top 40, there is no better time than the present to celebrate pure pop. It is a bit more early 00's Kylie Minogue meets La Bouche in an Ace of Base blender. Is there anything better? The answer you're looking for is no.
If "Spotlight" is any indicator, the rest of Taryn's upcoming solo material will be well worth the wait.

***I reposted this because Taryn is "Artist of the Week" over on Resolution Radio AND she is a good friend of mine :)***
Believe you me, I've realized more so than anyone else how little time I've spent spotlighting the songs I've been grooving to in favor of Tweeting about them. These days, my mind is a bit A.D.D. when it comes to music -- the minute something new and exciting hits, I tend to forget about what I loved (and wanted to write about) last week. However, this one cut keeps coming back to haunt me from the minute I heard it a few weeks back.
I owe all of the discovery to DJ Lilly over at Resolution Radio. She has been in contact with a musician who isn't exactly new, but rather a familiar face, and her most recent piece of work is fun people of disco-lectro rompiness that sticks in your ears and won't give.
Her name is Taryn Manning. The name may only be vaguely familiar to some of you but I guarantee you've seen her before. She first came into our consciousness as an actress, debuting in the 2001 film Crazy/Beautiful, before her big break came via the Britney Spears film vehicle Crossroads in 2003 as her "bad ass" BFF. Since then, she's also appeared in 8 Mile, White Oleander and Hustle & Flow. Most recently, she's gained a role on the television revamp of Hawaii Five-O (which I have to say is much better than I assumed it'd be!).
She's also formed the duo electronica group Boomkat with her brother Kellin in 2003. The group is still active today, and recording under her own independent label, Little Vanilla Records (since 2004. Prior to that, the group was featured on DreamWorks Records, but were lost in the shuffle when the label folded into Universal Music Group in 2004). Their debut single, 'The Wreckoning", was a firm staple on several of my homemade "mix CDs" in 2003 (admittedly, a bit before I caught on to the conformity of iTunes). Their sound was starkly different from the rest of the pop music landscape at the time, and I distinctly remember dramatically mouthing along to the line "I came. I saw. I kicked some ass." as the song blared in my oversize headphones on the way to high school junior year.
Currently, Taryn is branching out on her own as a solo artist in her own side-project to the Boomkat sound, in favor of a more sunny, poppy, dance-and-synth-soaked flavor rather than Boomkat's unrelenting attitude and beats.

Gaga Says "Bye Bye" To Target
You may remember that Lady Gaga recently gave Target an exclusive deal to sell a special version of her new album. Well, that deal didn't last long because she dissolved it a few weeks ago. Why, do you ask? Because they weren't doing enough for the Gays (as usual). When Gaga made the deal, their agreement was they would do more to support the gays and right their wrongs from last year. They did nothing (no surprise), so Gaga ended it. That wasn't a very promising relationship anyway. I have been boycotting Target since last year.
Pete Wentz Is Taking Ashlee Simpson To Court
Wentz doesn't want his soon-to-be-ex wife getting primary physical custody of their son Bronx; so they are going to court. When Ashlee filed divorce papers back in February, she asked the judge for primary physical custody. Pete replied with a request for joint physical and legal custody of 2 year old Bronx. The official date of their separation was February 9th (according to Wentz). Pete also requested that both parties pay their own court fees (even though Simpson asked the courts to make Pete pay both sides). This is getting to be a very bitter divorce; but they shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

"The Voice" will be hosted by Carson Daly and will feature coaches, Cee-Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera! There will be competing teams of singers [on the show] looking for their shot in the big time. This news comes after several weeks of bad news for the "Dirrty" singer - let's hope this helps her get her life back on track.
This new singing competition will premiere on April 26th! With all the "American Idol" changes; do you think this new show stands a chance in the ratings? Let me know in the comments!

Kim Kardashian's New "Jam"
Kim Kardashian has officially released her new single and Ryan Seacrest played it on his show this morning. Proceeds from its sale will go to St Jude's in L.A. If you want my opinion; just remember that i am a firm believer in actors/models not singing and singers not acting/modeling - stick with what you are good at! (There are a few exceptions to that rule, of course, because some people are good at both). Take a listen and leave your opinion below!

Christina Aguilera's Arrest and Pink's Response To It
Christina Aguilera was arrested this morning for public intoxication. Her boyfriend, Matthew Rutler, was arrested for driving under the influence. Christina was released at 7:30 am when she passed a sobriety test and the Sheriff's Dept said they have no plans to prosecute her. Xtina is one of my favorites and I hope she gets out of this bad situation (including the relationship).
As far as Pink goes, she responded to her "rival singer's" arrest on Twitter: “Out of Myself, Britney, and Christina- didn’t everyone think I was gonna be the troublemaker? LOOK MA!!! No CUFFS!!”
